Frequently Asked Questions

How long do the LurkeHun Predator Lights last on a full charge?

When fully charged by solar panels, the lights operate throughout the night automatically. The built-in battery stores sufficient energy during daylight hours to power continuous nighttime operation.

What animals can these predator lights effectively repel from my property?

The lights effectively repel coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunks, deer, wolves, owls, and other nocturnal predators. Different mounting heights optimize effectiveness for specific animal species targeting your property.

How many units do I need to protect my entire yard?

For comprehensive protection, mount four units facing outward in each direction. This creates a perimeter defense that prevents predators from approaching from any angle around your protected area.

Will the lights work during cloudy weather or winter months?

The solar panels charge even during overcast conditions, though charging may take longer. The stored battery power ensures continued operation during cloudy periods and winter months with shorter daylight hours.

At what height should I mount the lights for different animals?

Mount 1-3 feet high for small animals like raccoons and skunks, 4-6 feet for medium predators like foxes and coyotes, and 6-8 feet for larger animals like deer and wolves.

How bright are the red LED lights at night?

The red LEDs flash at 4Hz frequency, creating highly visible pulsing lights that simulate predator eyes. They're bright enough to be effective deterrents without creating excessive light pollution.

Can I use these lights near my pets without scaring them?

Domestic pets typically adapt quickly to the lights since they're mounted outside living areas. The lights target wild animal behavior patterns rather than affecting familiar animals in their home territory.

Do the lights require any maintenance or cleaning?

Maintenance is minimal. Occasionally wipe solar panels with a damp cloth to remove dust or debris that might reduce charging efficiency. The weatherproof housing protects internal components automatically.
